Pokémon GO Phone Requirements – Before you start playing!

Pokémon GO is one of the latest smartphone game that’s the rage of the modern generation. It’s like a dream coming true for all the PokéFans who dreamt of a real-life Pokémon adventure watching their favourite Pokémon series. We’ve a great Pokémon GO review worth reading and knowing the game fully.

With the release of Pokémon GO, PokéFans all over the world have rejoiced and are enjoying this real-world adventure.

Although, it’s still in Beta stage and not completely perfect yet.

The glitch for now is, it only supports a specific range of modern smartphones. So, if you’re a hardcore Pokémon GO fan but have a phone with old specifications, it’s time to change it with a new one.

But, before you take any action, you should know the requirements to play Pokémon GO on your smartphone.

Pokémon GO Phone Requirements

Pokémon GO Android requirements:

  1. OS: Android 4.4 to Android 6.0.1
  2. Resolution: 720×1280 (not optimized for tablets)
  3. Internet Connection: 3G, 4G or Wi-Fi
  4. Location Tracking: GPS and Location Services
  5. Intel CPU’s are not supported.

So, if you happen to have an Android phone with OS below 4.4 (Kitkat), or a Tablet phone, you won’t be able to play Pokémon GO. Also, a strong internet connection (3G, 4G or Wi-Fi) is required without which the game cannot be played (make sure you’ve an unlimited Internet Data pack or you would end up paying a hefty Internet bill). Also, Android smartphones with Intel CPU cores are not supported.

Pokémon GO iPhone requirements:

  1. Phone model: iPhone 5+
  2. iOS: iOS 8+
  3. Internet Connection: 3G, 4G or Wi-Fi
  4. Location Tracking: GPS and Location Services
  5. Jailbroken devices are not supported.

Pokémon GO for iPhone requires you to have iPhone 5 or above with iOS 8 or higher installed as the Operating System. If your iPhone doesn’t meet this requirement, you know that your iPhone is old and worth an exchange! Also, same as for Android, you’ll need a strong internet connection for playing the game. One thing worth noting here is, Jailbroken iPhone devices are not supported by the Pokémon GO game.

Also, Pokémon GO is a heavy battery hog. So, you also want to make sure that you first charge your phone fully and then get out for some adventure to enjoy it to the fullest!
